Civic win Smart Docklands Award

This one was a huge personal achievement for us!

Not because of the amount of people involved in getting this project over the line, or all the extra hours our Smart Cities team had to endure to ensure the pilot was a success (Thank you all again 🙏) . But because we’ve spent the last 5 years, across all our departments, working on becoming industry leaders in Smart Technology in Ireland.

Winning this award gave us the confidence and belief that all our hard work and late night office pizzas could really manifest itself into something tangible. Something we could hold and display in our office with pride. It gave us the confidence we needed to sit at the table with global technology giants like IBM & Amazon and really contribute to the changes that are taking place in our city.

We hope this award inspires more Irish companies to put their heads down and focus on areas where they feel they can make real change. Although it might be some time until Dublin’s Public Transport Fleet becomes fully autonomous, we can all play our part in ensuring our city is fully prepared for the smart future which lies ahead.
